The story
so far.
-------------------------------------------
2007 will be the first year that we'll be called '
Horde'
officially. Until this right moment, we were a small part of another
main event, the Codex Alpe Adria (previously called Amiga Alpe
Adria), and yeah, we were the ones responsible for compo
organizing and all demoscene-related stuff...
That has been an awesome experience, neverthless the demoscene
community needs grew considerably in the last years so the
inevitable following step was a full, stand-alone demoparty
organization.. That's how
Horde came to
life. And btw, it's the name we used to identify ourselves
(i.e., the demoscene team organizers and the demoscene 'side' of it
all) in 2006 as well, just to avoid confusion.
We've always been focused on the
demoscene
only for a better and more efficient
organization and we are the one and only 100% scene spirit event that
takes place in Italy at the right moment.
We're gonna hold our event on the same days as Codex just to share
guests and visitors between the events.
The partyplace will be the same as last year; the comfortable
and cool
Place
dai Zovins located in Branco, Udine.
Why 'HORDE'?
-------------------------------------------
Well, this is a quite interesting question.
The name comes from 'Branco', the city of the location. After some
word-play and joke, we ended up with HORDE. And yeah, the logo is just
a bunch of evil sheep staring at you and ready to kill you. Woah.
Where
'HORDE'? And when?
-------------------------------------------
So, the
HORDE
Demoparty will take place on
July 6-8th, 2007 in Branco,
Udine, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy [
google map].
If you visited us in 2006, you'll be pleased to know that you'll find
us in the very same location again: the comfortable and cool "
Place
dai Zovins" located in Branco, Udine, same location as 2006.
If you wanna know about travelling and how to reach us, check the
google map for now and for anything else, just wait a few
days more, we're lazy asses but we are working on the final touchs of
the website.
Let it be clear: this year the event location will not be shared with
the Codex Alpe Adria any longer, but since both events are
strategically placed in the same city of Udine, at the same time
approximately, feel free to visit the Codex event on July 7th if you
please! :)
Now
it's up to you!
-------------------------------------------
There are some good reasons for you to come.
First,
this will be the 4th year demoscene kicks in and the first
year of
PURE demoscene.
Second,
we have competitions and we accept remote entries, so get your ass off
some prod and go code something! ;)
Third,
we are so handsome and evil you can't miss it.
Keep an eye on this website to know more!
Questions? Do you think something's missing? You would like to know
more? Do you want to tell us something?
Mail us!
(Or just wait for the website updates, goddammit! :P
The HOT
stuff...
------------------------
Horde
(as for all the previous appearances of demoscene-stuff into 0xaa) is
organized and supported by
SKiM and
Dream Merchants.
Members of
Horde
Organizing Team ("
HOT"
from now on) are
Delilah
and
Skan,
along with
Myx,
Phobya,
and
CAS
[the location supreme landlord, precious help and big supporter! ].
Actually, the whole team can be contacted at
horde@untergrund.net.
There also is a bunch of people who actually helped with advices, work
and good ideas. Thank you.
For any question regarding the party, you can either write to the main
email address or contact the organizers above by using their own
private email addresses.
Cronology:
----------------
-
2004:
SKiM brings the demoscene into Codex Event with a
Speech held by Max Raber,
Uroš Bogataj and Stefan Leitner: The Amiga community
and
the demo scene in Italy, Slovenia and Austria
-
2005: We
manage to promote a demoscene meeting inside the Codex event. We
managed to get a (*sigh* shared) room and spent there our whole
day. Yarr. We managed the competitions and there have been some great
prods, thank you!
-
2006:
0xaa features the HOT working for competitions and generally demoscene
organization. We had and managed to do demoscene speechs, competitions,
surprise compos, lazyness, tons of fun and severe lack of
sleep.
-
2007: ? :)
Rules:
----------------
Rules for entering the compos are pretty the same as in any other
demoparty around. No stealing, no copy, no re-release. While you wait
for us to upload another pretty page to link here and make things
clearer, you may have a look
HERE to
get the idea :)
